Stream Restoration Project
The BMA stream restoration committee secured a $26,000 grant from the Foundation for PA Watersheds to address the erosion problem occurring around the upper outflow pipe in the Park. Greg Schaetzle, a watershed scientist from the Western PA Conservancy, designed a plan that was installed by Dave Woehler and his skilled crew at the beginning of June 2024. Everything, down to the weather, went perfectly and we are confident that this improvement will benefit our Park and prevent future erosion issues in that area. Before/after pictures can be viewed in the carousel below.
BMA volunteers will be working hard to do some more restorative work around that area in the coming weeks. Please consider helping out at the next volunteer weekend- June 22nd and 23rd. Sign up in the "events" section under "Stream Project Volunteers"
